Pastoral Care – Chaplaincy Ministry

Pastor Dave

Meadowood is blessed to have a full time Chaplain on staff for over 10 years.

Pastor Dave is a friendly, caring face to all our residents, families and the staff. He provides vital spiritual guidance and support, especially for residents who may be struggling spiritually or emotionally at this time in their lives.

Each week he ministers through a non-denomination Sunday worship service for all who wish to attend. He also hosts daily Morning Prayers and Hymn Sings, as well as special fellowship times throughout the week for all residents and tenants.

Pastor Dave and his wife Darlene regularly do visitation to those in hospital, and with compassion, they seek to provide a level of comfort and counsel to all. If you are in need of spiritual help or need prayer you are welcome to call the front desk and we can put you in touch with Pastor Dave.

Pastoral Services

Pastoral Care

A full time Chaplain is on staff at Meadowood Manor. He visits Residents with the facility as well as Residents who have been hospitalized. The Chaplain is available to provide support and counselling for all Residents, family members, and staff or will coordinator referrals to clergy of other faith traditions.

Spiritual Care

The Chaplain conducts programs to encourage spiritual growth and social interactions. These include bible studies, sing-alongs and other special events. Morning Song (a short devotional service) is held Monday to Friday at 10:00a.m. and an inter-denominational church service is held every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m.
In addition, church services with a particular denomination can be arranged in consultation with the Chaplain as required. Catholic Services are held on the last Friday of each month.

Memorial Services

In recognition of those who have passed away while at Meadowood Manor, a memorial service is held to celebrate their lives. The memorial service involves a short prayer service, followed by sharing of memories by fellow Residents, family and staff. The memorial service provides those who are unable to attend a formal funeral service the opportunity to say goodbye.

Funeral Services & Arrangements

End of life decision can be a very difficult and stressful time for loved ones. We require all families to pre-arrange all funeral preferences at the time of admission.
If no pre-arrangements have been made or family is unable to be contacted at the time of death, a local funeral home will be called.
Our Chaplain is available for funerals or memorial services upon request.

Visiting Hours

All families and friends are welcome to visit at anytime. Meadowood Manor does not have any formal visiting hours.
